COULD YOU SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL?
Purley CofE Primary School is a village school despite its proximity to Reading. In 2013, the school expanded from an infant school to a primary school. Currently there are four classes with 108 pupils on roll. The school has an excellent local reputation and was very well-regarded in our Ofsted and SIAS Inspections.
We currently have a vacancy for a Co-Opted Governor. This is a valuable, voluntary positon on our school governing body. We are a strong team of governors, where everyone supports each other embracing our school ethos “ learn to love and love to learn”.
Co-opted governors contribute to fulfilling the normal functions of the governing board but need not be experts in the field of education themselves. We are prioritising a search for people who can use their experience to strengthen our work, for the benefit of all the pupils in our school. The role of a governor is an excellent way of contributing directly to the development of the next generation of our community and we are dedicated to developing and nurturing each and every child, within the Christian ethos of our school.
You will need time to offer to attend 11 meetings a year which last around 2.5 hours and to occasionally visit the school during the school day. A wide range of training is available through West Berkshire Council and on line as well as support from existing governors.
